Legal disclaimer

Educational information only — not financial, tax or legal advice. Not affiliated with the U.S. Department of Education or any loan servicer. Estimates, not determinations.
Educational information, not advice
SAVE Exit Navigator publishes educational information about federal student loan repayment programs. It does not provide financial, tax, legal, investment, accounting or credit-counselling advice, and nothing it produces is a recommendation to take, or to refrain from taking, any particular action.
Using the tool, subscribing to reminders or purchasing the action plan does not create a fiduciary, advisory, agency, attorney–client or any other professional relationship between you and SAVE Exit Navigator or its operator.
Your situation may turn on facts the tool never asks about. Consider speaking with a qualified professional, and confirm every figure with your loan servicer, before you file anything.
Independent — no government or servicer affiliation
SAVE Exit Navigator is published by ToolXpert, an independent private developer. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or acting on behalf of the U.S. Department of Education, Federal Student Aid, StudentAid.gov, the Internal Revenue Service, any other federal or state agency, or any loan servicer or lender.
Program, plan and agency names are used only to identify the programs described. All trademarks belong to their respective owners.
You never have to pay anyone to change your repayment plan
Changing your federal repayment plan, consolidating, applying for an income-driven plan and certifying employment for PSLF are all free at StudentAid.gov and through your servicer.
SAVE Exit Navigator charges only for its own comparison and planning materials. It never files an application on your behalf, never contacts your servicer for you, never collects or forwards loan payments, and never asks for your FSA ID or StudentAid.gov password. Anyone asking you for those is not us.
Estimates and projections, not determinations
Every number shown is an estimate produced from the values you enter and from the modelling assumptions below. Only your loan servicer and the U.S. Department of Education can determine your actual monthly payment, your eligibility for any plan, your forgiveness date, your PSLF credit or your deadline.
The model assumes your income grows 3% a year and the federal poverty guidelines grow 2.5% a year; holds current tax law constant for the life of the projection; models unpaid IBR interest without mid-projection capitalization, which makes IBR look cheaper than it may prove to be; estimates federal income tax on forgiven balances only, excluding state tax; and excludes Parent PLUS borrowers from RAP.
Actual results will differ, sometimes substantially. The assumptions and their direction of error are set out in full on the Sources and methodology page.
The rules are changing, and this may be out of date
Plan rules are drawn from statute, published regulations and Department of Education guidance in effect as of August 11, 2026. The Department is still issuing guidance on the SAVE wind-down, the Repayment Assistance Plan and the 2026 changes to Income-Based Repayment.
Rules, dates, thresholds and figures may change without notice, and this tool may not be updated immediately when they do.
Verifying your deadline is your responsibility
Your 90-day selection window runs from the date printed on the notice your servicer sent you — not from any date this tool infers or assumes.
Deadlines, loan types, balances, interest rates and PSLF counts must be confirmed with your servicer and on StudentAid.gov. Missing a deadline can have permanent consequences, and only you can act on it.
Provided without warranty
SAVE Exit Navigator is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties or conditions of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory — including, without limitation, any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, completeness, quiet enjoyment and non-infringement.
There is no warranty that the tool will be available or uninterrupted, that it is free of errors, or that any calculation, deadline or projection it produces is accurate, complete or current.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, neither SAVE Exit Navigator nor its operator is liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, nor for any lost payments, lost forgiveness credit, lost eligibility, additional interest, tax liability, penalties or lost opportunity, arising out of or relating to your use of — or reliance on — the tool or anything it produces. This applies whether the claim sounds in contract, tort, statute or otherwise, and even if the possibility of such damages was known.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the tool will not exceed the amount you actually paid for it in the twelve months before the claim arose.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions or liability limitations, so parts of this section and the one above it may not apply to you. Nothing here limits liability for fraud, for fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
What a purchase does and does not buy
Deadline Guard is a one-time purchase of educational materials: a printable, dated action plan generated from the numbers you entered, the married-filing-separately comparison, continued access to re-run the comparison, and annual recertification reminders.
It is not a subscription, not a service performed on your behalf, and not a guarantee of any outcome. It does not change your repayment plan — you still do that yourself, for free, at StudentAid.gov.
If it does not do what that description says, email rogercramey@gmail.com and you will be refunded.
